Natural Skin Care
Skin is the largest organ of human body. Natural Skin Care is care of skin using naturally derived ingredients such as herbs, roots and flowers. These are combined with natural occurring agents such as natural soap, oils and even pure water. People with sensitive skin has found natural skin care very effective and has adopted it. Natural skin care recipes can be used at home. Specialty spas and skin care salons now focus on using natural skin care products.
There is, however, no actual definition of “natural”. All ingredients are chemicals by definition. “Derived” ingredients are “unnatural” both according to the original substance and the method of derivation.

The term “natural” has considerable market value in promoting cosmetic products to consumers, but dermatologists say it has very little medical meaning and the USA FDA states the claim has no legal meaning. The FDA recommends understanding the ingredient label, says “There is no list of ingredients that can be guaranteed not to cause allergic reactions, so consumers who are prone to allergies should pay careful attention to what they use on their skin”, and further warns “There is no basis in fact or scientific legitimacy to the notion that products containing natural ingredients are good for the skin”.
Skin Types And Skin Protection
Even with all the information and products available, caring for skin turns out to be complicated and time testing activity. One needs to have serious patience, timeliness and discipline to be able to consistently take care of their own skin. First and foremost thing to know is type of skin you have. Without knowing this, any application of skin care product can create serious skin problems for you.
Skin Type – Sensitive Skin
Only the mild versions of any skin care product should be applied for sensitive skin. Skincare products without soap are highly recommended. Super fatty soaps which are extremely gentle may be used. A skin care product that contains fruit sugars and natural hydrating ingredients such as aloe and cucumber is also a good option. Using baby products is a fool proof way of ensuring you won’t damage your sensitive skin.
Skin Type – Normal Skin
For normal skin, choose a skin care product with moisturizers or exfoliating properties. A cleansing skin care product with lactic, glycolic or fruit acid complexes can rejuvenate your skin at the same time while cleaning it. Other cleansing products that can have a positive effect on your normal skin include those skincare products that have moisturizing creams, botanical extracts, and aromatic essential oils.
Skin Type – Oily Skin
For oily skin, a good non-drying but oil-stripping skin care product is needed. The perfect skin care product for this is a soap or body wash that contains glycerin. Glycerin removes oil and grime and is so water soluble that it leaves no residue on the skin, making it perfect for those with oily complexion. Cleansing products with higher doses of alpha hydroxy acids also work well with oily skin. It mildly exfoliates the skin, reducing the chances of acne which is a common problem amongst those with oily complexions.
Skin Type – Dry Skin
Dry Skin is flaky and dull looking with fine pores, the overall feel is dry texture. For dry skin types, deep moisturising products are needed. Most of good moisturising products may make your face look oily, sticky when applied and may attract lot of dust to settle on your face. Best way to beat around is apply such products at night (after face wash).
