Dr. Jairam Vanamala, an alumnus of Indian Agriculture Research Institute (IARI), New Delhi, said. “you can understand this with an example by comparing “cancer stem cells” as the root of the seed,” further they explained “You may cut the plant or remove the seed, but as long as the roots are still there, it will keep growing after few time, Similarly, if the cancer stem cells are still present in body, the cancer can still spread in any part of body and continue it’s growth. Jairam Vanamala, is one of the associate professor of food sciences at Pennsylvania State University (USA ). He further explained that attacking on the stem cells of cancer is an effective way to counter this cancer .
