Just like Australia, New Zealand, and America, Canada is also a land of extremes. We often run out of time, because this country is so immense that you can hardly see it within a few weeks. So if you want to enjoy this country, you will have to get most out of your trip or spread your trip on multiple vacations.
Fortunately, there are Canadian guided tour operator like Guided North within the country that offers a special range of packages https://www.guidednorth.com/tours/ , They have standard tour packages, but all are just a little more adventurous and luxurious side.
As you now know about me, I like to explore the limits of the “ordinary.” Everyone knows the famous tourist attractions, but now and then our eyes also want something more to see than typical attractions, and that is why I travel a little ‘less-known’ attractions and accommodations.
Let me bundle my experience and present it to you and hope that I can give you a push in the right direction or may help you with some excellent ideas. Who knows, maybe you see something that you think is what I never thought of!
I guess that you would like to spend your vacation in the middle of nature. There are different ways for that. For example, you can go on a horseback ride, trek into wild nature with professional guides, glide through the snowy mountains on skis, or even enjoy Canada’s beautiful lakes and nature on a luxury houseboat.
There are many tour operators who have very extensive programs for adventurous tourists. In the summer you can take a jeep safari, glide over beautiful lakes with a Canoe, go into the wilderness by horse and also eat fresh salmon with a baked salmon. In the winter, there are more offers on the list. What do you think of dog sled? Or race through the snow on a snow scooter for a few hours? If you want to see old Canada, then the “Medicine Trail” is something for you.
Canada tour can not be complete if it does not include to see polar bears and moose in the wild. These magnificent animals are in the list of endangered species. Massive cutting of jungles also making it difficult for them to find food and survive. They are also widely hunted by indigenous people for their skin and organs. Fortunately, more attention is given for their conservation similar to many endangered species. However, It should be in your must-do list for Canada, see polar bears and moose in the wild.
Do you suffer from fear of heights like me, and you want to experience uniquely? Capilano Suspension Bridge offers stunning wild views along with a 140-meter beautiful walk over a wooden suspension bridge. I controlled my fear and enjoyed walking the bridge, and after doing it, I get positive goosebumps and a smile on my face. I definitely recommend doing this again to get loads of adrenaline rush.
Perhaps a bit confusing, just like in Australia, Canada also has an indigenous population. It is always nice to meet the indigenous people of a country and know their culture. The Canadian Aborigines are proud of their origins and would like to share this with visitors. You should also ask your tour guide for an indigenous tour, getting involved with villagers will help you to understand the ages-old culture of the country. Sweat Lodge experience was also very nice. The Sweat lodge is a representation of Mother Earth in which the mind, body, and head get cleansed. You can also hear interesting and extremely fascinating stories from ‘Elders’ there. This adventure should unquestionably on your ‘to do’ list.
Do you want to go ‘back to basic’ and hopefully become rich? Then you must go to Yukon in Northern Canada. Gold Bottom Mine Tours is located in Klondike where the famous Klondike gold rush of 1898 took place. Here they teach you how to mine gold. You can also try to find gold for yourself in the old traditional way. Do you want to sleep there? That is also possible. However, do not expect five star accommodations, because you can only choose from three wooden log cabins. All 3 are very simple and are heated by a stove. Of course, that shouldn’t be a problem for a real gold digger ;). After all, you don’t get rich sitting on lazy boy with a remote control in the hand. A daring adventurer has a lot to do to become the next Uncle Scrooge. Have fun.
Is Niagara Falls on your list? Then I would like to encourage you not to go to a hotel, instead try local Bed & Breakfast. Canadians are known for their hospitality and you will never get disappointed. I speak from experience.
In the end, I thank Gabby from www.GuidedNorth.com for arranging my Tour.
