- Water- Skiing: The well-known places for water-skiing are Dal Lake and Nagin lake.
- Skiing: For skiing the eminent places are Gulmarg and Khilanmarg. The appropriate timing is from November to February.
- Snow Boarding: Again Gulmarg and Khilanmarg are famous spots for snow boarding.
- Ice-Skating: it is ‘best enjoyed in the months of January and February. The places popular for this activity are Pahalgam, Gulmarg and Srinagar in Kashmir.
- Mountaineering: The best place for this activity is the Nun-Kun peak in Ladakh. The ideal timing is June to September.
- River Rafting: The best place for river rafting is the Indus river in Ladakh along with its tributaries.

Pahalam– Called the Valley of Shepherds. It is 96 kilometers from east of Srinagar. It is situated at the confluence of streams of Lidder River and Sheesnag lake. The places of attraction here are Baisaran and Hajan.
